HOW SOLAR POWER WORKS

1. Solar modules placed on your place absorbs sunlight.

2. These absorbed sunlight is converted into electricity.

3. Batteries store this electricity, which can be used later to provide power at night, when raining or during outages.

4. Inverters, also one of the components in a solar energy system, process this stored electricity from the batteries to provide a utility-like electricity.

5. When the batteries are full, the excess electricity generated from the solar modules can be fed back to the utility grid.

This is called net metering and is essentially selling retail to your utility company. When your consumption is greater than that produced by PV, your power comes from the utility.

Connecting to the grid is an essential aspect of lowering the cost of your system. But you will not be able to receive power to your house when the grid is down (blackout).
